The Jurisprudential Efforts of the Al-Maqbul Scholars

Abstract

This research focuses on introducing the jurists of the Al-Maqboul family and highlighting their contributions to Islamic jurisprudence. The family is considered one of the most prominent scholarly lineages in Yemen. The study adopts a documentary and inductive methodology to trace the authorship of their works, verify their attribution, and identify available manuscripts and printed copies. All references and quotations were carefully documented through footnotes. The research is structured around two main sections: The first defines relevant terms and concepts. The second presents the juristic efforts of Al-Maqboul scholars. The aim is to shed light on this distinguished scholarly family and highlight their contributions in the field of Islamic jurisprudence. Key findings include: The Al-Maqboul family played a notable role in Yemen’s juristic and religious scholarship. Their leading figures and scholarly outputs deserve further study and recognition. The research recommendation is to recognize the efforts of Al-Maqbool scholars and conduct a systematic scientific study of them, presenting the findings in a comprehensive encyclopedia. In addition, by establishing a scientific house for manuscripts in Tihama, Yemen, concerned with collecting, classifying, and verifying Tihami manuscripts, and linking them to research centers and universities.
