The Authorial Efforts of Yemeni Scholars in the Science of the Quranic Readings and Their Effects

Abstract

The science of Quranic readings is one of the fields that has received exceptional attention in the history of the Islamic nation, due to its close connection with the performance of the Holy Quran and the diversity of its narrations. Yemeni scholars have prominently served this science throughout the ages through authorship, teaching, and establishing scientific schools with a lasting impact. In this research, we will discuss the authorship efforts of Yemeni scholars in this field and highlight the impact of these scientific endeavors. The researcher has relied on historical and descriptive methodologies in writing. The study reached several key findings, most notably: the authenticity of Yemeni scholarly works and their significant status and impact within the Quranic library. The study recommended that Yemeni scholars should prioritize attention to these manuscripts, direct graduate students toward the critical editing and verification of these manuscripts, search for lost works, and preserve these valuable scientific treasures and scholarly heritage.
