This study aims to identify one of the signs of Arabic poetry, whose fame has spread throughout the ages, namely Abu al-Tayyib al-Mutanabbi, who occupied the minds of both his supporters and enemies alike. His works have survived to this day, testifying to his distinction and poetic genius, passed on by mouth. It makes the ears happy, and is sung by fans of authentic Arabic poetry. Many critics and writers, past and present, have written about it, and there is still room to talk about it. Abu al-Tayyib al-Mutanabbi is considered a distinguished poet throughout Arabic poetry. Therefore, many researchers were interested in studying his life and characteristics, and they were also interested in studying his poetic purposes. He took the path of strength to address the pain of his nation. Many researchers were also interested in explaining, interpreting, and criticizing his poetry collection. However, the researcher in this The study wanted to address a different aspect of Abu al-Tayyib al-Mutanabbi’s personality. We do not find many studies that talk about the rebellious side of al-Mutanabbi. He was known for his strength and courage, and he was not afraid of anyone, which helped him rebel.
This study also addresses the most important aspects that distinguish Al-Mutanabbi, the phenomenon of the transcendent ego that neither earth nor sky can contain. Al-Mutanabbi was like a mighty king who did not fear anyone. He was ambitious and admired himself to the point of narcissism, as he realized his distinction from others, which prompted him to exalt himself.
