A Study on the Extent of Establishing Infrastructure Related to Industry and Innovation to Achieve Sustainable Development in Libya

Abstract

The study addresses the importance of establishing infrastructure related to industry and innovation in achieving sustainable development in Libya, as it represents a key component of Sustainable Development Goal 9. It highlights that investment in industrial and innovative infrastructure is essential for increasing productivity and income, empowering different segments of society, and enabling cities to adapt to climate change while supporting economic growth. The study indicates that Libya has adopted policies and programs aimed at utilizing the Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, renewable energy, and cleaner production technologies, in addition to improving energy efficiency in the industrial sector. The state also promotes inclusive industrialization, the knowledge economy, and entrepreneurship, with a focus on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and strengthening scientific research as a foundation for industrial development. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of cooperation between the industrial sector and higher education institutions to provide scientific solutions to technical challenges. The study also reviews the reality of sustainable development in Libya and proposes measures and recommendations to strengthen infrastructure supporting industry and innovation in order to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development in the country.
