Palestinian cause and the question of identity in Ghassan Kanafani’s narrative experience

Abstract

This study seeks to confirm the importance of awareness of the Palestinian cause, make identity a measure of it, and use it as a tool to hold Arab and Islamic intellectual elites and political leaders accountable. Its components were derived from Ghassan Kanafani’s narrative project, the intellectual and political issues that arise from it, and his ability to enter into the worlds of the inner self of the Palestinian human being. Diving into his hidden fantasies and obsessions, and portraying his daily suffering, through fundamental questions that question the Arab and Islamic community, with a conscious belief that literature is a pivotal tool in reviving the popular conscience and making it a powerful weapon in the resistance against the occupation.
